Here is a recording I took. The top wave file is generated tones that go from 20hz to 1k hz, all of equal loudness.
The second wave after it is what I got when I recorded the top wave with my mic through my speakers.
This is why you can not just use any speakers to mix on I take it. ;) you can clearly see the frequencies being boosted and cut.
